Christianity in Asia: Sacred Art and Visual Splendour presents fascinating and beautiful objects that are the result of the spread of the Christian faith across Asia. In this special exhibition, with loans from internationally acclaimed museums, including Musée du Louvre, Bibliothèque nationale de France, and Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga, Lisbon, you will see art that combines East and West. Asian materials and techniques were used to create paintings, carved ivory figures, ceramics, furniture, altarpieces, and shrines that aided the spread of Christianity. ACM has brought many of these stunning works to Singapore for the very first time. This is an exhibition not to be missed!

Once Upon a Time in Asia The Missing Mouse

Are you ready to search for the missing mouse? Experience a story about friendship and adventure in the museum as you join Ganesha on his hunt for his best friend, Mr Mouse! Explore meandering mazes, paths, and passages to track him down. Create your own adventure in the museum. This exhibition is based on ACM’s first children’s book, The Missing Mouse. Through hands-on activities, workshops, programmes, and tours, you can learn more about animals – both real and mythical – in Asian art. Have an enjoyable time with the whole family at this exhibition.

Recommended for children ages 7 to 12, and for the young at heart

The Dig: 100 Days of the Empress Place Rescue Archaeology Excavation

From January to April last year, the largest archaeological excavation ever mounted in Singapore uncovered some 3.5 tonnes of artefacts from the area just next to the Asian Civilisations Museum.

This Chinese New Year, which starts on 8 February 2016, marks the Year of the Monkey. In celebration, the Asian Civilisations Museum presents a display of gibbons by Chen Wen Hsi 陈文希 (Guangdong 1906–1991 Singapore).
